Now hiring for Mixer/Heavy Lifters on our Production/Operations team! Three shift schedules are available:

• Morning (Shift A): Monday through Friday, 4:00am to 12:00pm
• Day (Shift B): Monday through Friday, 12:00pm to 8:00pm
• Grave (Shift C): Sunday through Thursday, 8:00pm to 4:00am

These are full-time roles, and can either be temp-to-hire or direct hire opportunities through La Tortilla Factory. This position is part of the core production team that assumes responsibility for continuous improvement activities of product and overall production flow. Primary functions are to process and mix different batches of dough batter according to the company formula. These are direct hire opportunities and a chance to join an established, family-owned business. This position is also an excellent opportunity for growth and a chance to learn the operations from the ground level. It all starts with a good tortilla dough of course!

WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS (ESSENTIAL DUTIES):


• Follows written procedures for mixing raw ingredients to make dough
• Understand the key components of dough development and techniques, and ability to communicate with Line Operator (water absorption, mix time, dough texture and temperature)
• Maintains log of mixes and ingredients used
• Loads ingredients into mixing machine
• Operates machinery used for mixing and loading
• Frequent use of hand-held device for inventory transactions and lot traceability
• Routine use of touch screen technology (water meter, waste scale, hand-held device and touch computer screen)
• Checks product for quality control and reports to the Quality Control technician
• Follow company safety regulations such as: Lock and Tag Out and Hearing Conservation
• Other duties may be assigned

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS):

• High school education, and one year related experience or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Technology savvy; ability to work with touch screen computer equipment and data entry tools
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively with groups
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities is a plus
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• The employee frequently is required to walk and climb or balance
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock, standing on a concrete surface for long periods of time, and may being exposed noise levels requiring the use of ear plug

THE PAY:
Competitive hourly rate starting at $16.50/hr, PLUS generous company-sponsored benefits including: Health, Dental, Vision, 401K, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, TACOS, and so much more!
