Dr. Wilkinson's Hot Springs Resort is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation and we are we are looking for a Engineering Supervisor to help us re-open our Hotel.

Dr. Wilkinson’s Backyard Resort & Mineral Springs is an iconic resort and spa destination located in the heart of the charming town of Calistoga, offering time-honored mud bath and spa treatments, healing mineral pool soaks, and the best of Calistoga right outside its doors.

Upon reopening, the transformed resort will honor its iconic past while looking toward the future with a new mid-century inspired design, 50 completely refreshed guestrooms, a brand new restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, a completely re-imagined spa, and the same proven mud bath treatments first shared with the world over 65 years ago. Best-in-class yet playful and approachable, the spa will make the art of mud bathing accessible for all.

As an Engineering Supervisor you will supervision and coordinate the installation, repair and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical and architectural systems throughout the hotel to ensure safety and efficiency. You will assist in hiring, coaching, and training of maintenance staff members.

Essential Experience/Aptitudes:

Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
One-year experience as a head or Engineering Supervisor in same or similar environment.
Three year’s experience as journey mechanic or engineer with a hotel company or related industry preferred.
Knowledge of electrical systems, components, and devices, HVAC systems, boilers, mechanical systems, and the maintenance and repair of all.
Requires advanced knowledge of building management/engineering. May require considerable working knowledge of other major areas in the hotel and the skill to integrate and communicate that information.
Requires analyzing activities and/or information involving some original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions.
Degree in facilities maintenance or related field preferred.
Knowledge of public construction and building systems; all related permits, licensing, new and existing codes pertaining to public building and fire safety.
Skill in use of computers and software programs associated with property operations.
Skilled in the proper and safe use of all tools, equipment, materials, chemicals, and products relating to the department.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to remain informed on effecting the safe, and effective operation of the building facility.
Ability to positively communicate, direct and motivate employees, offering assistance in areas where they lack knowledge, skills or experience.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
Must have exceptional mathematical and computer skills.
Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates.

Essential Job Functions:

Managing the completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces guest rooms, back of the house spaces and grounds. This may include but is not limited to refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventative maintenance, hotel rooms, AC and heating units, ice machines, swimming pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc. Reviews, plans, and coordinates all job assignments, sets work priorities, makes cost-effective assignment decisions and ensures the completion of projects in a timely, efficient and effective manner. Enforces and maintains superior facility standards at all times.
Adheres to all Corporate required purchasing policies and controls, to include all outside contractor bids, budgets and schedules.
Maintains effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs. Prepares annual preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all property systems and equipment are serviced that reflect and efficient and cost-effective approach to property and systems management.
Informs the Chief Engineer and other hotel department heads, on a regular basis, regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s), related systems and equipment offering prudent and cost-effective proposals for maintaining same.
Manages the delivery and measurement of guest service consistent with the company's core service standards and brand attributes. Responds and resolves guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
Maintains a well-defined, and organized system within the shop for the inventory, maintenance, and storage of all tools, products, materials, and equipment necessary to execute the required activities of the department
Immediately available to report to the hotel in the event of any hotel emergency. Emergencies may include, but not be limited to fires, power or other equipment failures, floods, lighting, earthquake, or other disasters of similar nature and magnitude.
Performs other duties as requested.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates,and vendors.
Ability to assist with the design and preparation of statistical reports and presentations as needed.
Ability to accurately report information.
Ability to assist with various accounting and office tasks as needed.
Ability to scrupulously follow all hotel policies and procedures.
