Dr. Wilkinson's Hot Springs Resort is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation and we are we are looking for a SPA DIRECTOR to help us re-open our Spa.

Dr. Wilkinson’s Backyard Resort & Mineral Springs is an iconic resort and spa destination located in the heart of the charming town of Calistoga, offering time-honored mud bath and spa treatments, healing mineral pool soaks, and the best of Calistoga right outside its doors.

Upon reopening, the transformed resort will honor its iconic past while looking toward the future with a new mid-century inspired design, 50 completely refreshed guestrooms, a brand new restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, a completely re-imagined spa, and the same proven mud bath treatments first shared with the world over 65 years ago. Best-in-class yet playful and approachable, the spa will make the art of mud bathing accessible for all.

Here’s what the job would look like:

As the Spa Director, you will direct and organize the overall operation of the spa, to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction, service and marketing to maximize profits through outstanding customer service.

Here are your job responsibilities:

Plan and direct the functions of administration and planning of the Spa to meet the daily needs of the operation.
Monitor treatment staff schedules, balancing them accordingly to achieve a profitable result.
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness to the highest standards
Create and maintain professional merchandising of retail inventories to maximize profits
Implement effective controls of supplies and labor costs and monitor the budget to ensure efficient operation and that expenditures stay within budget limitations, including achieving budgeted revenue and labor expenses.
Regularly review and evaluate the degree of customer satisfaction of the Spa, to recommend new operating and marketing policies whenever a change in demand, customer dissatisfaction, or a change in competitive environment requires such changes. Investigate and resolve service complaints. Develop, along with assistance from supervisors, operating tools necessary and incidental to modern management principles such as budgeting, forecasting, purchase specifications, job descriptions, etc.
Insure compliance with all Company policies and procedures that relate to the Spa, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Hire, train, supervise, develop, discipline and counsel all spa team members according to Company policies and procedures

You may be assigned these:

The percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
Participate in the development of the annual budget; develop short and long term financial operating plans
Attend mandatory meetings including divisional meetings, executive meetings, staff meetings, etc.
Participate in Manager on Duty coverage program, which may require occasional weekend stay overs
Participate in community public relations for the hotel.
Operate traditional software programs such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and/or Outlook Express.
Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
Perform in the capacity of any position supervised.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Complete other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics which inspire Team Members to meet and exceed standards.

Qualifications:

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and /or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Essential Experience/Aptitude:

Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
Bachelor’s degree and license in Esthetics and Certified Massage Therapist preferred.
Must have minimum five years’ experience in Spa related industry, including at least three years supervisory experience.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Working knowledge of annual budget and operational statement analysis.
Familiar with OSHA, SB198, local Department of Health regulations, and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances.

Essential Physical Abilities:

Occasionally required to handle and move objects weighing up to 30 lbs. over short distances.
Stands and walks short distances throughout shift.
Requires upper body strength and stamina to perform routine job tasks.
May be required to assist guests on/off table.
Reaches and lifts to perform routine job tasks.
