WORKING HOURS:

This is an hourly position. The incumbent is expected to work the necessary hours to meet the needs of a 24 hour establishment.

SUMMARY:

The Slot Representative is responsible for Slot floor operations, Jackpot processing and payout, minor machine repair, currency and coin exchange, guest reward card signups, adhering to, and implementation of all Title 31 procedures. Observes and safeguards company assets. Perform the responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. Create a positive entertainment experience for all guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for practicing, cultivating and supporting River Rock's "Team Rock" company-wide culture at all times.
Comply with signatory controls, including Jackpot/Fill slips, check in/out verification, transfer or buy sheet verification, Title 31 paperwork, paid in/out slip, key control log, radio sign out log and daily sign in sheet.
Upbeat personality for all interactions with guests and fellow employees.
Proactive in anticipating customer needs by continually searching for lights and customers in need of service.
Motivation in becoming familiar with all guests, remembering names and little facts.
Capable of counting down, checking in/out and maintaining accountability of a slot bank. Possesses money-handling skills in effectively and efficiently providing change for guests while maintaining Title 31 requirements.
Basic knowledge of the other games and services offered by casino. Must be able to substitute in other Slot Department positions, including Players Club personnel job functions.
Knowledge of documentation required in transactions including jackpots, machine entries and machine repair.
Possess a working knowledge of the various slots and video games.
Provide minor machine repairs as necessary.
Has knowledge of and complies with Slot department policies and procedures including those pertaining to Federal and Regulatory laws and guidelines, including inter-departmental policies and procedures.
Provides feedback to Slot Department management of necessary changes and improvements.
Effectively maintain rapport with customers when routinely handling disputes and making every effort to achieve customer satisfaction.
Exercises appropriate discretion in identifying situations that require management attention.
Inform Management of any illegal gaming activity.
Handle guest requests and disputes in a positive and professional manner.
Ability to handle and secure keys within department guidelines.
Be fully aware of all activities, and respond to all needs while maintaining the cleanliness, safely and upkeep of assigned area.
Possess the knowledge and communication skills to communicate special events and promotions to customers.
Understands River Rocks philosophy and work effectively to implement it.
Acts as a role model and always present oneself as a credit to River Rock Casino and encourages others to do the same.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, department and company policies and procedures.
Attends all required meetings and training.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Performs other duties as assigned.

No supervisory responsibilities for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Demonstration of strong customer/guest service skills is required.
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team members and Management in both written and verbal form.
Must possess a working knowledge of Windows based computer applications and the ability to learn additional job related software as necessary.
Previous casino experience preferred.
Must possess strong money handling and documentation skills which include counting money and making change accurately.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must maintain a positive and effective working relationship with management, guests, and other department co-workers and work as a team.
Must present professional appearance at all times.
Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with respect to all matters pertaining to the gaming enterprise business. Comply with all company and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Must be able to gain a working knowledge/understanding of Title 31 requirements. Example: all acceptable or unacceptable currency transactions, MTL and CTRC logging requirements.
Follow all Responsible Gaming Guidelines. Example: self-limiting requests and checking identification for individuals who appear under 30 years of age.
Understand and practice of outstanding service and company values. Regularly exhibit "Team Rock' philosophy.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma/GED required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are important to the successful conduct of this position.
Ability to write accurate, grammatically correct, polished reports and business correspondence.
Must be able to speak with the public in a professional manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to proactively streamline processes for company's return on investment.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Dry Creek Gaming Commission.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to maneuver around all areas of the casino.
Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 30.
Must have manual dexterity to operate a computer, machine locks, and small tools to repair minor machine malfunctions. Ability to use equipment such as: currency counter, calculator, telephone, hand held radio, and other electronic devices and office related equipment.
Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, twist and grip items.
Must be able to respond to visual and audio cues.
